Privacy Policy
This policy explains how CatchUpLit and all its medical literature apps process information when you use an app, visit our website or contact us. These apps are CatchUpCardio, CatchUpENT, CatchUpAnesth, CatchUpPath, CatchUpDerm, CatchUpIM, CatchUpPsych, CatchUpPulm, CatchUpPeds, CatchUpSurg, CatchUpGyn, CatchUpRad, CatchUpNeuro, CatchUpOphtho, CatchUpRheum and CatchUpGastro.
Information processed by the app
- Anonymous technical account and preferences. The app stores selected topics, study designs and journals to provide a personal overview.
- On-device preferences. Language, appearance, saved and deleted articles, and notification choices may be stored on your device.
- Article reading signals. When you open an article, we store its article ID, specialty and a random identifier for this app installation or browser. Each identifier counts once per article. We use the resulting number of distinct readers to sort recent articles. We delete these reading records after 60 days. Your personal topic, study design and journal weights remain on your device or in your browser.
- Optional tips. If you choose to make an in-app purchase, the app receives the product and transaction status needed to confirm and process your tip. We do not receive your payment card details.
- Support messages. If you email us, we process your address and message to respond.
The CatchUp apps do not require your name and do not include advertising or third-party behavioural analytics.
Website analytics
On catchuplit.com, we ask for your consent before enabling Google Analytics. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics helps us understand aggregate website use. You can decline analytics or change your choice at any time using Cookie preferences.
Service providers and sources
Supabase provides backend infrastructure. Apple and Google Play process optional in-app purchases on their respective platforms; your device platform manages notification permissions. CatchUpRad for Android checks for matching articles on the device to deliver optional notifications. PubMed/NCBI and Europe PMC provide bibliographic literature and article links. OpenAI’s API may process publication text to prepare summaries; this does not include your identity or contact details. Google Analytics processes website analytics only when you allow it. Our email provider processes support messages.
