Privacy Policy
This policy explains how CatchUpLit processes information when you use DermCatchUp or contact us.
Information processed by the app
- Anonymous account identifier and preferences. The app creates an anonymous technical account and stores selected dermatology topics and the preferred maximum number of articles so that a personal digest can be provided.
- On-device settings. Language, appearance, research filters, saved or archived articles and notification choices may be stored locally on your device.
- Support communications. If you email us, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to answer you.
DermCatchUp does not require your name and does not include an advertising or third-party behavioural analytics SDK.
Why we process this information
We use this limited information to operate the app, remember your preferences, provide relevant literature, answer support questions, keep the service secure and improve reliability. Where required, processing is based on your consent, performance of the service you request, or our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service.
Service providers and external sources
We use service providers to operate DermCatchUp. Supabase provides authentication, database and backend infrastructure. Apple processes optional in-app purchases and notification permissions. PubMed/NCBI and Europe PMC provide bibliographic literature and article links. Automated article summaries may be prepared using OpenAI’s API; this processing concerns publication text and not your identity or contact details. Our email provider processes messages you send to us.
When you open an external article link, the external website’s own privacy policy applies. Providers may process data outside the European Economic Area subject to their applicable contractual and legal safeguards.
Payments
Optional tips are processed by Apple through the App Store. CatchUpLit does not receive your full payment-card details. Apple may provide transaction information needed to confirm and administer the purchase.
Retention and deletion
On-device information remains until you change it or remove the app. Backend preferences are retained while the anonymous account is active or as needed to operate and secure the service. You may request deletion of backend preferences and support correspondence by emailing contact@catchuplit.com.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Children
DermCatchUp is intended for healthcare professionals and is not directed to children.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app or its providers change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
